About the role#
The Wyoming State Veterinary Laboratory (WSVL) hires students to assist with daily laboratory operations. This role provides hands-on training in a diagnostic setting, which helps prepare students for future graduate school, professional programs, or laboratory careers.
What you'll do#
You will support diagnostic laboratory efforts by assisting with a variety of technical tasks. Specific responsibilities vary by lab section and include:
- Collecting samples
- Accessioning samples
- Setting up samples
- Performing diagnostic lab testing
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a University of Wyoming student
- Willingness to learn new tasks
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic understanding of workplace safety and biosafety
- Some prior laboratory experience
