About the role#
The Sustainability Outreach Lead supports the Green Film School Alliance (GFSA) initiatives within the School of Communication. This role focuses on promoting sustainable practices in student film production during the Fall 2026 semester.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with graduate assistants and student ambassadors to contact faculty in production and writing courses.
- Guide students and faculty through the process of applying for Green Seals for student films.
- Coordinate presentations and provide follow-up advice to project teams.
- Track sustainability coordinators and monitor progress on Green Seal applications with the division director.
- Train fellow students on ambassador responsibilities.
- Address and resolve questions or issues from faculty and students.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate student at American University.
- Previous experience working as a Green Ambassador.
Location & details#
- This position is located on-site at the American University main campus in Washington, DC.
- This is a part-time role requiring 5 hours of work per week.
- The pay rate is $25.00 per hour.
