About the role#
BorgWarner is seeking a year-round Validation Intern to join the Environmental Validation groups at the Kokomo Technical Center. You will support teams that validate ECUs for internal combustion engines and components for hybrid and electric vehicles. This is a full-time, paid position that requires on-site work.
What you'll do#
- Assist with lab setup and test execution, including connecting devices under test to equipment or coolant lines, moving racks, and supporting test configurations.
- Build, modify, and verify automotive wiring harnesses (20AWG to 3/0) and electrical load boxes.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and repairs on test benches, hardware, software, and lab networking issues.
- Maintain the lab environment by organizing equipment, moving materials, and keeping work areas clean.
- Support Validation Operations Engineers with workflow documentation, asset tracking, and administrative tasks.
- Under supervision, assist with PC builds, software installation, data backup, and the creation of simple batch scripts for automation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or graduation from an accredited college or university.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Experience working with hand tools or power tools.
- Pursuing a degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
