    About the role#

    This internship provides students with the chance to apply academic knowledge to a professional agribusiness environment. You will work within the Meat business unit, gaining hands-on experience by collaborating with food scientists on real-world product development projects. This is a paid, full-time, 12-week summer position designed to build your professional skills through substantive project work.

    What you'll do#

    • Support product development processes including formulations setup and shelf-life evaluation.
    • Assist with experimental design and sensory evaluation tasks.
    • Apply analytical chemistry and food material science to characterize ingredient functionality.
    • Complete substantive projects that provide exposure to various agribusiness activities.
    • Participate in orientation, mentoring, and networking opportunities to support your professional growth.

    What you'll need#

    • Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Animal Science, Meat Science, Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
    • Graduation date between December 2027 and Summer 2029.
    • Ability to complete a 12-week internship during the summer of 2027.
    • Legal right to work in the U.S. without relying solely on a student visa.
    • Initiative and resourcefulness to complete work with limited guidance.
    • Ability to work well with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

    • Location: Wichita, Kansas.
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Duration: 12 weeks (May/June to August 2027).
    • Requirements: Must be geographically flexible and willing to relocate to Wichita.
