About the role#
This is a paid, hands-on internship at the KOCO newsroom in Oklahoma City. You will see how a professional newsroom operates and contribute to daily production. You will work alongside reporters and producers, occasionally accompanying crews into the field to gather information or assist with production.
What you'll do#
- Write vo/spots and packages.
- Assist reporters, producers, and photographers on shoots.
- Log interviews.
- Write stories for newscasts.
- Coordinate content within the newsroom.
- Help with general newsroom operations.
What you'll need#
- Current interest in journalism, supported by college coursework or previous internship experience.
- Ability to react and adapt to breaking news.
- Versatility in handling a wide range of topics.
- Knowledge of current events.
- Strong editorial, writing, and technical skills.
