About the role#
The Investment Strategy Institute at Duquesne University offers an internal internship supporting the Student Managed Investment Funds. This role provides research and administrative support to strengthen the strategic focus of the funds, including securities research, reporting, and industry outreach. You will report to the Executive or Associate Director and work approximately 20 hours per week during the summer and 10 hours per week during the academic year.
What you'll do#
- Develop long-term strategies to improve fund performance.
- Improve quarterly portfolio analytics and performance evaluation using Bloomberg.
- Enhance monthly reporting of fund positions and trading activity.
- Maintain and improve the SMIF Canvas site for better analytical content.
- Develop and maintain a database of alumni working in the investment management profession.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at Duquesne University as a finance major or SMIF member.
- Core competency in company financial statement analysis and discounted cash flow models.
- Competency in basic Bloomberg functions for analyzing equities.
- A valid driver's license.
