About the role#
This is a 6-month Mechanical Engineering Co-Op position based in Billerica, Massachusetts. You will join the Manufacturing Operations team for the Winter 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site role requiring 40 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Work alongside production and Senior Process Engineers to improve output and efficiency.
- Reduce scrap, rework, and waste while ensuring safety and quality standards.
- Assist with projects that drive operational efficiency and cost savings.
- Identify root causes of issues and propose technical solutions.
- Apply manufacturing best practices to improve process reliability and predictability.
- Analyze data and work with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.
- Assist in directing and controlling processes following established policies.
- Perform work within a cleanroom environment and lift up to 30 lbs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering degree program.
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., from January through June.
- Familiarity with your university requirements for co-op participation.
- Demonstrated hands-on problem-solving skills using engineering principles.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with personnel at all levels.
- A self-directed, motivated approach to working within a diverse team.
- A sense of ownership over your processes and a drive to create solutions.
