About the role#
Fervo Energy is hiring an Asset Reservoir Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027. You will work directly with the Reservoir Engineering team to analyze well performance data. Your work will help build models that inform how we design and space future geothermal wells. You will own a specific project for the 12-week term, which you will present to department leads and executive leadership at the end of the summer.
What you'll do#
- Build analytical models to evaluate well pattern circulation performance, including material balance, capacitance-resistance modeling, voidage replacement ratio, and nodal analysis.
- Compare your analytical model results against numerical model results.
- Analyze injection, production, pressure, and well data.
- Attend Resource team meetings, stimulation calls, and RE shares to understand Fervo operations.
What you'll need#
- You are a rising Junior, Senior, Master's, or PhD candidate in a petroleum or energy-related engineering program.
- You are wrapping up your degree program within the next year.
- You possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- You are eager to learn, take initiative, and adapt to new challenges.
- Preferred experience includes simulation or numerical modeling and familiarity with production, injection, and pressure data.

- This is a paid, full-time internship based on-site in Houston, Texas.
- We are not offering sponsorship for this position.
- This role is open to students pursuing degrees in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
