About the role#
As a Drilling Engineering Intern, you will own a project scoped with your manager to drive results over a 12-week period. You will work alongside the Drilling and Completions team to analyze performance data and apply technical techniques to our active geothermal energy projects. At the end of the summer, you will present your findings to executive leadership and department leads. This role includes exposure to office-based engineering and field operations.
What you'll do#
- Support well planning and offset well analysis.
- Help prepare and quality check daily drilling reports.
- Track drilling performance metrics including rate of penetration and cost per foot.
- Assist with vendor and rig-site coordination.
- Support special projects for the drilling engineering team.
What you'll need#
- Rising Junior, Senior, Master's candidate, or PhD candidate pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, or Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Comfort working with technical field data.
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders and leadership.
