About the role#
The Advanced Strategies and Research Technology team within Asset Management focuses on using new technologies and datasets to assist investment professionals. This co-op role involves working on an accelerated development team to build a platform for alternative data. You will work with application developers, database engineers, and data scientists to take ideas from whiteboards through prototypes and into enterprise applications.
What you'll do#
- Process and generate analytics from structured and unstructured datasets.
- Develop custom data pipelines to extract, map, transform, and load data into various stores.
- Extract data from REST APIs and perform parallel processing on large datasets.
- Build and maintain platforms for alternative data.
- Take projects from initial concepts through to integration with enterprise applications in the cloud.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technology-related field like Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- At least 1 year of experience in enterprise development.
- Strong background in object-oriented programming using languages such as Python, Java, or C#.
- Solid knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
- Experience with cloud computing concepts and deploying applications using CI/CD tools like Git or Jenkins.
- Familiarity with Python libraries such as Pandas or NumPy, or Spark.
- Experience developing data pipelines and working with RDBMS.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid position.
- Work is on-site in Boston, Massachusetts, or Merrimack, New Hampshire.
- The term is rolling.
