About the role#
HNTB is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to join our Water/Drainage team in Bellevue, Washington, for the Summer 2027 term. This position offers exposure to the planning, design, and delivery of water infrastructure and stormwater management projects. You will work on-site with our team to support hydraulic and hydrologic analysis, flood control systems, and drainage design for transportation projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineering teams with daily tasks and project duties.
- Support research, development, and design efforts for various projects.
- Help prepare engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Perform basic engineering calculations.
- Organize information for use in project documentation and drawings.
- Apply direction from peers and supervisors while learning shop drawing and submittal procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program, preferably in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic understanding of engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Completion of at least 2 years of a post-secondary engineering program is preferred.

- Compensation: The pay range is $25.28 to $37.92 per hour.
- Status: This is a paid, full-time internship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
