About the role#
This position is open exclusively to current or former HNTB interns. As a Construction Representative I, you will provide field and office support throughout the construction phases of infrastructure projects. You will work alongside the Resident Engineer and the project team to apply construction engineering procedures and ensure project data remains accurate and up to date.
What you'll do#
- Perform office management tasks, including preparing meeting agendas, recording minutes, and maintaining tracking logs for RFIs, submittals, and pay estimates.
- Assist with field work to ensure construction activities align with plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Coordinate and schedule quality control inspections and observe on-site material testing.
- Perform mathematical calculations for material quantity payments.
- Review contractor daily reports for accuracy and document project progress using photos and video.
- Identify discrepancies in construction drawings and consult with the Resident Engineer to resolve construction problems.
- Use industry technology, such as GPS or Rovers, to improve the efficiency and accuracy of inspection tasks.
What you'll need#
- An Associate degree in a relevant field with 2 years of experience, or a Bachelor degree in Construction Management or a related field.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Basic math skills for project tasks and quantity calculations.
- Familiarity with document control processes for project records like material approvals and contractor payments.
- Basic proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to recognize, document, and escalate field issues.

- This is a full-time, paid position based on-site.
- Terms available: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
