    About the role#

    The Inter-American Development Bank is hiring a graduate student for the Amazonia Partnerships and Knowledge Management Internship. This is a paid, full-time position based in Washington, D.C. for the Winter 2027 term. You will gain professional experience in development work and corporate management while supporting the Amazonia Forever initiative.

    What you'll do#

    • Support the Amazonia Forever team with research, coordination, and knowledge management tasks.
    • Prepare presentations, briefing materials, and analytical summaries regarding Amazonian development and conservation.
    • Collect, organize, and analyze information to assist with project planning and decision-making.
    • Contribute community perspectives to help design and implement initiative activities.
    • Engage with Indigenous Peoples, local communities, and partner organizations.
    • Help organize meetings and workshops related to the Amazonia Forever initiative.

    What you'll need#

    • You must be an active graduate student in Economics, International Relations, Architecture, Social Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
    • You must be a national of an IDB member country.
    • You cannot have family members currently working at the IDB or IDB Invest.
    • You must be a first-time participant in an IDB Group internship program.
    • Fluency in English is required. A working knowledge of Spanish, French, or Portuguese is a plus.
    • Strong knowledge of the Amazon region through academic, professional, or lived experience is highly desirable.

    Location & details#

    • This role is located in Washington, D.C.
    • The internship runs from January 16, 2027, to March 15, 2027.
    • You must be available to work 40 hours per week during this period.
