    About the role#

    The Extended Services Intern supports the Intensive Case Management, Extended Case Management, and Services for Older Refugees teams in Baltimore. You will help vulnerable populations, including survivors of domestic violence, older refugees, and individuals with medical conditions or disabilities, navigate their integration into the community. This role focuses on connecting clients to essential healthcare, education, and psychosocial resources to meet their individual goals.

    What you'll do#

    • Support case management for vulnerable refugee households.
    • Develop service plans to meet individual client needs and preferences.
    • Assist clients with arranging transportation to medical and other required appointments.
    • Conduct virtual orientation sessions on topics such as using public transportation and accessing community resources.
    • Maintain service documentation through case-notes and case file management.

    What you'll need#

    • Interest or experience in working with refugees, immigrants, case management, or public health.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and web-based databases.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Fluency in English is required; bilingual ability is a plus.
    • A valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle with insurance are strongly preferred.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Baltimore, Maryland.
    • Modality: Hybrid, requiring at least 3 days per week in the office.
    • Term: Fall 2026, from September 14th to December 18th.
    • Commitment: Minimum of 15 hours per week.
    • Compensation: This is an unpaid internship. Interns are eligible for a per diem reimbursement of $15 per day to offset food and travel costs, as well as mileage reimbursement for approved activities.
