About the role#
This position is a one or two-year internship focused on learning and preparing for the responsibilities of a Campus Minister. You will receive intensive training while exercising ministerial functions at Hinds Community College. This is a full-time, paid position. At the end of your term, a supervisory decision will be made regarding your suitability for continued employment with InterVarsity.
What you'll do#
- Act as a maturing disciple of Jesus Christ by growing in spiritual disciplines and ministry experience.
- Participate in the ministry team to contribute to spiritual growth and transformation plans.
- Teach students how to study and apply Scripture.
- Assist in leading ministry efforts for students and faculty.
- Provide pastoral care, support, and training for student and faculty spiritual development.
- Perform administrative tasks to ensure compliance with InterVarsity policies and procedures.
- Serve as an ambassador to ministry partners and churches to build support for the mission.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student with prior leadership experience in an InterVarsity Chapter.
- Annual affirmation of InterVarsity’s Statement of Agreement, including the Doctrinal Basis and Purpose Statement.
- Commitment to abide by the InterVarsity Code of Conduct.
- Belief and behavior consistent with InterVarsity’s Human Sexuality Theological Paper.
- Affirmation of and behavior consistent with the Women in Ministry Statement of Affirmation.
- Ability to contribute to an open and supportive relationship with ministry team members.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and problem-solving abilities.

- Compensation: This position is funded through personal fundraising. The anticipated salary range is $35,088 to $46,776 per year, dependent on your ability to secure a donor team to fund your salary.
