About the role#
As an intern on the Beauty and Personal Care Formulations team, you will focus on demonstrating the consumer benefits of sustainable technologies. You will work in a laboratory setting to develop formulations and test raw materials for sensory characterization and performance. This role involves collaboration with marketing and analytical teams.
What you'll do#
- Develop personal care formulations for skin care, color cosmetics, suncare, and haircare.
- Compare formulation performance against benchmark raw materials.
- Conduct claim studies, including sensory panel evaluations, soft-focus studies, long-wear evaluations, SPF analysis, microscopy, and rheology.
- Summarize laboratory data and draw conclusions through analysis.
- Follow lab safety protocols and maintain a lab notebook.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in chemical engineering, chemistry, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience working in a laboratory.
- Ability to draw conclusions from complex experiments.
- Preferred: Prior coursework or internship experience in cosmetics formulation development and application testing.
Location & details#
- Location: Pearl River, New York.
- Term: Summer 2027 (10-12 weeks between May and August).
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour.
