About the role#
This full-time Civil Engineering Co-op position runs from mid-May 2027 through late November or early December 2027. You will join the SME team for an orientation and training period before moving into on-the-job training with full-time staff. This role provides exposure to consulting engineering practices and direct interaction with construction managers, contractors, and design professionals.
What you'll do#
- Support field construction quality control activities.
- Assess and evaluate project materials like soils and concrete.
- Assist in the adherence to project specifications.
- Perform field evaluations and quality control testing.
- Gain exposure to geotechnical engineering, environmental remediation, pavement design, and materials evaluation.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Basic computer literacy for field work, communications, and reporting.
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 to 60 pounds.
- Ability to work outside in various weather conditions and on uneven terrain.
- Attention to detail when reviewing project documents and reporting.
