    About the role#

    This Co-op assignment runs full-time from mid-May through early-December 2027. You will join the SME team to gain hands-on experience in consulting engineering. The program starts with an orientation and training period, followed by on-the-job work alongside full-time staff. You will interact with contractors, design professionals, and construction managers while exploring different specializations in the field.

    What you'll do#

    • Support field construction quality control activities.
    • Assess and evaluate project materials, including soils and concrete.
    • Help engineering staff with field evaluations and quality control testing.
    • Work with team members and contractors to ensure projects meet specifications.
    • Gain direct exposure to consulting engineering practices in areas like geotechnical engineering and materials evaluation.

    What you'll need#

    • Pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering.
    • Basic computer literacy for field work, communication, and reporting.
    • A valid driver's license and a good driving record.
    • Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 to 60 pounds.
    • Ability to work outdoors at construction sites in various weather conditions.
    • Capability to stand, stoop, kneel, and walk on uneven terrain for long periods.
