About the role#
St. Luke's University Health Network offers a full-time, competency-based internship for the Winter 2026 cohort. This program supports the transition from novice to advanced beginner through a mix of seminars, workshops, supervised hands-on training, simulation, and clinical observations. The internship is supervised by the Emergency Department Internship coordinator, and successful participants will go on to work in a St. Luke's Emergency Department.
What you'll do#
- Provide nursing care through the nursing process, including assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, evaluating, and documenting the effects of care.
- Work cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, and other patient-team personnel to maintain professional nursing practice standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of all materials and ensure proper release of information.
- Model the Network’s Service Excellence Standards of Performance in all interactions.
- Comply with all departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.
What you'll need#
- Nursing students with prospective graduation dates who will be eligible to sit for the NCLEX and obtain licensure before the start of the internship.
- Registered Nurse with a current license to practice in Pennsylvania or New Jersey.
- Experience working in an Emergency Department, prehospital care, or completion of a Senior Practicum in an Emergency Department.
- Experienced RNs who have not previously worked in an Emergency Department setting.
- Current BLS certification.

- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- Opportunities are available at multiple campuses, including locations in Allentown, Bethlehem, Coaldale, Easton, Lehighton, Orwigsburg, Quakertown, and Stroudsburg.
- Work is on-site.
