About the role#
This is a field-based internship for students interested in arboriculture and the green industry. You will work alongside experienced arborists, climbers, and plant health care technicians in North Royalton, Ohio. This position is full-time, running for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Perform tree pruning, removal, cabling, bracing, and general maintenance.
- Assist with tree and landscape installation.
- Operate field equipment safely, including chainsaws and chippers.
- Conduct plant health care tasks, such as deep root fertilization, soil care, and pest management.
- Learn about the daily operations of a residential tree care office, including sales, management, and client service.
- Work toward completing career development booklets for climbers and plant health care technicians.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Natural Resources, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Forestry, or a related field.
- A valid driver's license (a commercial driver's license is a plus).
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- An enthusiasm for proper plant care and working outdoors.
