About the role#
As a Geosciences Intern, you will interpret subsurface data to support hydrocarbon exploration and development projects. You will work alongside a mentor and a team of professionals within a business unit. Your primary goal is to provide recommendations for basin studies, exploration plays, and field development. Interns interact with other professionals across the company and may participate in short courses or field trips.
What you'll do#
- Perform 3D seismic interpretation of fault juxtaposition to predict trap geometry and size.
- Conduct detailed 3D seismic interpretation of known fields to identify drilling locations.
- Generate prospects and create well proposals.
- Develop and evaluate recompletion opportunities in conventional and unconventional resource plays.
- Model unconventional facies and rock types for hydraulic fracturing analysis.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Geology, Geophysics, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical field.
- Current enrollment in a Master's degree or higher program in Geology, Geophysics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
- A status as a current graduate student with an expected graduation date of Fall 2027 or later.
- Availability to start the internship between mid and late May 2027.
- A minimum of 10 continuous weeks of availability.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis without company sponsorship.

- Positions are located in Houston, Texas; Anchorage, Alaska; or Midland, Texas.
- This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship for Summer 2027.
- The internship duration is 10 to 12 weeks.
