About the role#
We are looking for an EHS Co-Op to join our team in Billerica, Massachusetts for the Winter 2027 term. This is a 6-month assignment focused on supporting environmental, health, and safety compliance within our manufacturing environment. You will gain hands-on experience by working directly with our EHS team on regulatory requirements and site safety initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections throughout the facility.
- Identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues.
- Support the development and tracking of corrective action plans.
- Monitor compliance with environmental regulations, including hazardous waste management, air emissions, and wastewater.
- Assist with environmental sustainability programs.
- Prepare regulatory reports, including OSHA logs and safety audits.
- Help develop and implement EHS policies and procedures.
- Participate in projects such as risk assessments, ergonomics studies, and emergency response planning.
- Provide administrative support to the team.
- Travel to our Franklin, MA site once per month to assist with cross-functional projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for Industrial Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- A basic understanding of EHS principles and regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to walk through manufacturing and lab areas, climb stairs, wear required PPE, and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Familiarity with your university requirements for co-op participation.
Location & details#
- Location: Billerica, MA (with monthly travel to Franklin, MA).
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8a-5p.
- Duration: January through June 2027.
- This position is paid.
