About the role#
Fervo Energy is building next-generation geothermal power to provide carbon-free energy. As an intern, you will support our Process Safety function as our power generation systems scale. You will own a specific project for the duration of your internship, working alongside our engineering teams to solve technical challenges. At the end of the term, you will present your work to our leadership team and department leads.
What you'll do#
- Assist with hazard reviews.
- Support the development of safety documentation.
- Help update process safety procedures and standards.
- Participate in PHA or incident investigations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a B.S. or M.S. program for Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Standing as a rising Junior or Senior.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and adapt to new challenges.
- Interest in process safety and industrial risk management is preferred.
- Experience in process safety, risk management, or root cause analysis is a plus.

- This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship based in Houston, Texas.
- The term is rolling.
