About the role#
This position is open exclusively to current or former HNTB interns. It is a full-time role for the Winter or Summer 2027 term within the Central Division. You will support planning projects by applying technical strategies to gather data, assess outcomes, and develop reports and visuals.
What you'll do#
- Research and collect raw data, then organize and analyze it for project use.
- Perform project analysis using technical guidance and software.
- Help team members develop maps, exhibits, presentation materials, and reports.
- Conduct research on policies, concepts, and issues related to planning.
- Assist in developing conceptual planning alternatives and preparing environmental documents.
- Support stakeholder and public participation processes.
- Maintain project records, collections, and files.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency with GIS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to compile and summarize data like census and land use information.
- Experience reviewing and summarizing research for senior staff.
- Capability to contribute to reports and assist in preparing presentation materials.
Location & details#
This is an on-site role available in Austin, Baton Rouge, Dallas, Des Moines, El Paso, Fort Worth, Houston, Kansas City, Little Rock, New Orleans, Oklahoma City, Overland Park, Plano, Round Rock, San Antonio, and St. Louis. This position is paid. Visa sponsorship is not available.
