About the role#
The Inter-American Development Bank is seeking a graduate student for a paid internship in Washington, D.C. This program offers an opportunity to gain professional experience in development work and corporate management. You will work on-site for a fixed period of two months.
What you'll do#
- Support the development of dashboards to monitor the Sector's portfolio, including operational deadlines and disbursement indicators.
- Create a country snapshot tool to consolidate data from multiple systems for senior management.
- Build structured datasets from institutional documents to support artificial intelligence tools.
- Assist in the design, testing, and evaluation of AI agents used to review project documents.
- Analyze portfolio and quality data to identify trends and document the tools developed for team use.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a graduate program for Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or Public Policy.
- Completion of at least 50% of your required coursework.
- Fluency in English and a working knowledge of another Bank language (Spanish, French, or Portuguese).
- Technical proficiency in Power BI, Python or R, and experience with generative AI tools like Microsoft Copilot.
- Citizenship from an IDB member country.
- You must be a first-time participant in an IDB Group internship program and have no family members currently working at the Bank.
