    About the role#

    The Inter-American Development Bank is hiring a graduate student for a paid internship within the Water and Sanitation Division. You will work with the Caribbean team to support operational and analytical tasks. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Washington, D.C., for the Winter 2027 term.

    What you'll do#

    • Provide technical support for operational and analytical water and sanitation activities.
    • Prepare reports, technical analyses, and presentations.
    • Coordinate relationships with clients, donors, and strategic partners, including organizing workshops and seminars.
    • Identify and assess sector studies, guidelines, technical notes, and tools related to water supply, desalination, and environmental management.

    What you'll need#

    • You must be an active graduate student in engineering, water resources management, natural resource management, environmental sciences, economics, or geosciences.
    • You must have completed at least 50% of your graduate coursework at the time of application.
    • Fluency in English is required, along with a working knowledge of Spanish, French, or Portuguese.
    • Experience in water management is necessary.
    • Familiarity with GEF- and GCF-funded projects is preferred.
    • You must be a national of an IDB member country and a first-time participant in an IDB Group internship.

    • Term: January 16, 2027, to March 15, 2027.
    • Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week).
    • Modality: On-site.
