    About the role#

    The Inter-American Development Bank is seeking an undergraduate student for a paid internship to support the Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) Compliance Function. This role involves assisting with oversight responsibilities, including risk assessment, control testing, and data analysis. You will work on-site at our headquarters in Washington, D.C. for a two-month term during the winter of 2027.

    What you'll do#

    • Provide analytical and administrative support to the AML/CFT Compliance Function.
    • Assist in the planning and coordination of the AML/CFT controls testing exercise.
    • Support the maintenance of the AML/CFT Risk and Control Matrix.
    • Collect, organize, and review control documentation and evidence provided by business units.
    • Assist in documenting business processes and controls.
    • Support the testing of control design and operating effectiveness under the supervision of compliance staff.

    What you'll need#

    • Active enrollment as an undergraduate student in Business Administration, Risk Management, Finance, Data Analytics, Law, International Relations, or Information Systems.
    • Graduation date scheduled after the internship period.
    • Completion of at least the second year of undergraduate studies at the time of application.
    • Fluency in English, with knowledge of Spanish, French, or Portuguese considered an asset.
    • Citizenship from an IDB member country.
    • Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the program.
    • Status as a first-time participant in an IDB Group internship program.

    • Modality: On-site.
    • Compensation: This is a paid internship.
