About the role#
The Student Success Student Assistant provides administrative support to the Dyson Advising department. You will help with daily office operations and assist staff with various projects. This role offers experience in higher education administration, academic advising operations, and peer support.
What you'll do#
- Answer phones and greet office visitors.
- Take detailed messages for staff follow-up.
- Perform general clerical duties to support department functions.
- Assist with ongoing department projects as assigned.

- Current enrollment at Pace University in good academic and conduct standing.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A professional, friendly, and dependable approach.
- Ability to work directly with other students.
- Good judgment to distinguish between general peer assistance and professional advising.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn about university resources and student support services.
- Commitment to completing the required Peer Advisor Credential.
Location & details#
- This role is located in New York, New York.
- The position is on-site.
- Work hours are capped at 20 hours per week during the semester and 35 hours per week during breaks, with exact schedules determined by your supervisor.
- This is a paid position.
