    About the role#

    St. Luke's University Health Network offers a full-time, paid Acute Care Internship for graduate nurses. This program supports the transition from novice to advanced beginner through a combination of seminars, workshops, supervised hands-on training, and simulation. The internship is competency-based and tailored to each individual learner, with guidance from a dedicated education team and clinical preceptors.

    What you'll do#

    • Perform in-depth, systematic assessments of all assigned patients.
    • Formulate collaborative, individualized plans of care and identify expected patient outcomes using the nursing process.
    • Prioritize patient care while working cooperatively with ancillary and nursing personnel to maintain professional standards.
    • Act as a professional role model and resource person to provide guidance to co-workers.
    • Demonstrate the Network’s Service Excellence Standards of Performance in all interactions.
    • Maintain confidentiality of all materials and ensure the proper release of information.

    What you'll need#

    • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
    • Current Registered Nurse license in Pennsylvania or New Jersey (for the Warren campus), or a Temporary Practice Permit issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
    • Nursing students with prospective Spring, Summer, or Winter graduation dates who will be eligible to sit for the NCLEX and obtain licensure before the internship begins.
    • Experienced RNs who have not worked in an acute care setting or have less than one year of experience.

    Location & details#

    • Modality: On-site.
    • Schedule: Full-time (36 or 40 hours per week), with holiday and weekend requirements depending on the unit.
    • Locations: Opportunities are available at various campuses, including Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, Orwigsburg, Coaldale, Lehighton, Stroudsburg, Quakertown, and Sellersville.
