About the role#
The Department of Transportation is seeking an intern for the Office of the General Counsel in Tampa. This role provides exposure to transportation law, government operations, and regulatory processes. You will work under the supervision of agency attorneys and paralegals to support legal team initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Assist attorneys and paralegals with research, file review, and case preparation.
- Support document management by organizing case files, records, and correspondence.
- Contribute to special projects involving the scanning of case files and public records.
- Provide general office communication and administrative support to the legal team.
- Engage in research to support department initiatives and perform technical tasks within your assigned focus area.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- A High School Diploma or Certificate of High School Equivalency is required.
- Ability to understand and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Proficiency in using personal computers and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments while communicating effectively with the team.
- You must be a United States citizen or a lawfully authorized alien worker. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, part-time position located in Tampa, Florida.
- The role offers a pay rate of $15.00 per hour.
- This is a rolling internship with an expected commitment of 20 hours per week.
