About the role#
This is a full-time, 10 to 12-week summer internship based in Monroe, Louisiana. You will work alongside project managers to plan and coordinate onsite construction activities. The goal is to ensure projects meet their objectives within established timelines and budgets. You will gain hands-on experience in mechanical construction and apply your academic background to real-world projects.
What you'll do#
- Prepare technical documentation, including reports, RFI's, and submittals.
- Support project engineers with task coordination, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to verify installations and gather data.
- Troubleshoot engineering issues and document substitution requests.
- Collaborate with designers, electrical engineers, and project managers.
- Prepare productivity reports and take meeting minutes.
- Assist with client relationship management.
- Participate in company training sessions and workshops.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Science, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with HVAC, piping, or plumbing in commercial, industrial, or institutional settings.
- Knowledge of construction processes, technology, and standards.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to identify problems and develop solutions proactively.
- A collaborative spirit and self-motivation.
- Basic business acumen.
Location & details#
- Location: Monroe, LA.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May through August).
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $19 to $23 per hour.
- Requirements: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Physical demands include walking on uneven surfaces, climbing ladders, and lifting.
