    About the role#

    This summer internship provides hands-on experience within our Research and Development function. You will work alongside food scientists to apply academic knowledge to business projects. You will be assigned to research or applications projects that involve working with our ingredient portfolio and finished food systems.

    What you'll do#

    • Research how Cargill ingredients function in various snack and bakery processes.
    • Develop new bakery, snack, dairy, and beverage formulations for customers and tradeshows.
    • Apply scientific principles to build knowledge about food ingredients for use in finished systems.
    • Collaborate on research projects using analytical chemistry and food material science.
    • Conduct lab or pilot work on customer food systems to meet specific needs.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related technical degree.
    • Graduation date between December 2027 and Summer 2029.
    • Ability to complete a 12-week internship during the summer of 2027.
    • Legal right to work in the U.S. without reliance on a student visa or third-party sponsorship.
    • High level of initiative and the ability to work with limited guidance.

    • Location: Plymouth, Minnesota.
    • Term: Summer 2027 (12 weeks).
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • This is a paid, full-time position.
    • Candidates must be willing to relocate to Plymouth, MN.
