About the role#
This position is exclusively for current or former HNTB interns. You will assist engineering teams with various tasks and projects, gaining experience that builds upon your post-secondary engineering curriculum. This is a full-time, paid role available for the Fall 2026, Winter 2027, or Summer 2027 terms.
What you'll do#
- Support engineering teams with daily tasks and duties.
- Assist with the research, development, and design of projects.
- Prepare engineering drawings and documents as assigned.
- Perform other duties as needed to support project goals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Environmental).
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and organize information for drawings or documents.
- Ability to accept and apply direction from peers and supervisors.

This is an on-site role. Available locations include:
- Milwaukee, Ashwaubenon, and Madison, Wisconsin
- Valparaiso, Indianapolis, and Westfield, Indiana
- Sterling Heights, East Lansing, Jackson, Detroit, Allen Park, and Grand Rapids, Michigan
- Downers Grove and Chicago, Illinois
- Cleveland, Columbus, and Blue Ash, Ohio
- Minneapolis, Minnesota
