    About the role#

    The Inter-American Development Bank is hiring an intern for the 2027 Winter Internship Program. This is a paid, full-time consultant position based at our headquarters. You will gain professional experience through on-the-job learning while contributing to our knowledge agenda regarding public interventions in the agricultural sector.

    What you'll do#

    • Conduct literature reviews on public interventions in agriculture and relevant econometric methodologies.
    • Identify, clean, and construct databases for empirical analysis.
    • Perform quantitative analyses using rigorous econometric methods.
    • Prepare and deliver internal and external presentations on your analytical work.
    • Write reports, including Technical Notes and academic papers, for peer-reviewed journals.

    What you'll need#

    • You must be an active graduate student (master's or Ph.D.) in Economics, Agriculture, Statistics, Data Science, Political Science, Public Health, or Environmental Engineering at an accredited university.
    • You must have completed at least 50% of your coursework and have a graduation date after the internship concludes.
    • You are a national of an IDB member country.
    • You have advanced skills in STATA and experience with empirical data analysis, including experimental and quasi-experimental methods.
    • You have solid training in Econometrics and Applied Micro-Econometrics.
    • You are fluent in English and have knowledge of one other Bank language (Spanish, French, or Portuguese).
    • You must not have family members currently working at the IDB or IDB Invest.
    • This must be your first internship with the Bank or IDB Invest.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Washington, D.C., United States.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Duration: Full-time (40 hours per week) from January 16, 2027, to March 15, 2027.
    • Sponsorship: Not provided. International students must secure their own work authorization (CPT or OPT) and confirm their eligibility to work 40 hours per week.
