    About the role#

    The Inter-American Development Bank is hiring an intern for the Winter 2027 term. This is a paid, full-time position based in Washington D.C. You will work with the Disaster Risk Team within the Environmental and Social Solutions Division to support due diligence activities. This internship is designed for graduate students to gain professional experience in development work and corporate management.

    What you'll do#

    • Review and update operational and technical databases to ensure data quality and consistency.
    • Extract and verify information from internal sources to assist with analytical inputs and operational briefs.
    • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis on disaster risk management data to identify trends and portfolio gaps.
    • Create templates for quarterly and annual management reports, including narrative summaries and visual data materials.
    • Assist in the design and development of an operational dashboard by defining indicators, organizing datasets, and documenting processes.

    What you'll need#

    • Active enrollment as a graduate student (Master's or Ph.D.) in data science, statistics, economics, public policy, business analytics, information systems, engineering, environmental sciences, or disaster risk management.
    • Completion of at least 50% of your graduate coursework at the time of application.
    • Proficiency in both Spanish and English, in spoken and written forms.
    • Strong skills in data management, analytical thinking, and data visualization.
    • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and multicultural teams.
    • Citizenship from an IDB member country.
    • Previous experience in Latin America and the Caribbean is a plus.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Washington D.C., United States.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Term: Winter 2027 (January 16th to March 15th, 2027).
    • Commitment: Full-time (40 hours per week).
    • Eligibility: This must be your first internship with the IDB Group. You must have no family members currently working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
