About the role#
The IDB Invest Legal Department is seeking an undergraduate intern for its Compliance unit. This is a paid, full-time internship based at our headquarters. You will gain professional experience by supporting our legal team in advising Management and business units on compliance and operational risks. This role is a two-month engagement running from January 16, 2027, to March 15, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist legal officers in identifying and mitigating nonfinancial risks related to integrity, ethics, and conflicts of interest.
- Help develop and implement policies, guidelines, and procedures to prevent compliance risks.
- Conduct legal research and draft reports to support our compliance program.
- Create training and capacity-building materials.
- Coordinate with internal departments, including investment teams and the Office of Ethics.
What you'll need#
- You must be an active undergraduate student in Law at an accredited university.
- You must have completed your second year of school by the time of application.
- Your graduation date must occur after the internship period concludes.
- Fluency in English is required.
- You must be proficient with MS Office, including Excel.
- You must be a first-time participant in an IDB Group Internship Program.
- You cannot be a former staff member, contractor, or Complementary Workforce member of the Bank or Corporation.
- You must not have family members currently working at the IDB or IDB Invest.
