    About the role#

    St. Luke's University Health Network offers a full-time, paid Acute Care Internship for graduate nurses. This program supports your transition from a student to a professional nurse through a mix of seminars, workshops, supervised hands-on training, and simulation. The internship is competency-based and tailored to your individual needs as an adult learner. Upon successful completion, you will join an acute care unit to provide care for patients across their lifespans.

    What you'll do#

    • Perform in-depth, systematic assessments of all assigned patients.
    • Formulate collaborative and individualized plans of care, identifying expected patient outcomes using the nursing process.
    • Prioritize patient care by working cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, and other team personnel.
    • Function as a professional role model and resource person for co-workers.
    • Demonstrate the network's Service Excellence Standards of Performance in all interactions.
    • Maintain confidentiality of all materials and ensure the proper release of information.

    What you'll need#

    • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
    • A current Registered Nurse license in Pennsylvania or New Jersey, or a Temporary Practice Permit issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
    • Current nursing students with prospective graduation dates who will be eligible to sit for the NCLEX and obtain licensure before the internship begins are encouraged to apply.
    • Experienced RNs with less than one year of experience or those who have not previously worked in an acute care setting are also eligible.

    Location & details#

    • This is an on-site, full-time position with rolling start dates.
    • Opportunities are available at multiple campuses, including locations in Allentown, Bethlehem, Coaldale, Easton, Lehighton, Orwigsburg, Quakertown, Sellersville, and Stroudsburg.
    • Physical requirements include the ability to stand for up to 10 hours per day, walk for 6 hours per day, and lift or transport patients weighing up to 500 lbs via equipment.
