About the role#
St. Luke's University Health Network is hiring for a full-time, night-shift NICU Internship for the Fall 2026 cohort. This program supports the transition from novice to advanced beginner through a competency-based curriculum. Interns receive training through seminars, workshops, supervised hands-on practice, simulation, and clinical observations. The program includes AWHONN Neonatal Orientation and Education Program credits.
What you'll do#
- Provide nursing care for high-risk neonates and infants by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
- Document the effects of care throughout the nursing process.
- Work with ancillary, nursing, and other patient-team personnel to maintain professional practice standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of all materials and ensure the proper release of information.
What you'll need#
- Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license, or eligibility to sit for the NCLEX and obtain licensure before the internship begins.
- Experience as an RN who has not previously worked in a NICU setting, or nursing students with a scheduled NICU senior practicum or prior NICU experience.
- Current BLS certification.
- Ability to complete the Neonatal Resuscitation Program within one year.
- Physical ability to stand for up to 8 hours, walk for up to 6 hours, and lift or push up to 75 pounds frequently.
