About the role#
St. Luke's University Health Network offers clinical opportunities for nursing students. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide patient care and gain hands-on experience. This is a paid, full-time position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Assist in providing patient care under the direct supervision of an RN.
- Perform physical assessments and document care in medical records.
- Administer medications under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.
- Prepare patients for transport to other departments and assist with discharge planning.
- Communicate with the health care team and provide patient education.
- Maintain professional behavior and composure in stressful situations.
What you'll need#
- Completion of nursing school requirements.
- Criminal background and health history clearances.
- Basic knowledge of patient care.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to maintain professionalism.
- Ability to meet physical requirements, including standing for long periods and lifting or transporting patients.
