About the role#
The Inter-American Development Bank is seeking an undergraduate intern to provide analytical and administrative support to the Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) Compliance Function. This role focuses on second-line oversight responsibilities, including risk assessments, control testing, and compliance monitoring. This is a paid, full-time internship for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Assist in planning and coordinating the 2026-2027 AML/CFT controls testing exercise.
- Maintain the AML/CFT Risk and Control Matrix and related testing inventories.
- Collect, organize, and review control documentation and evidence from business units.
- Document business processes and controls.
- Test control design and operating effectiveness under the guidance of compliance staff.
What you'll need#
- Active undergraduate student in Business Administration, Risk Management, Finance, Data Analytics, Law, International Relations, or Information Systems.
- Completion of at least the second year of undergraduate studies.
- Graduation date scheduled after the internship period.
- Fluency in English and a working knowledge of Spanish, French, or Portuguese.
- Strong analytical, research, and data organization skills.
- Familiarity with AML/CFT, sanctions, risk testing, audit, or compliance concepts.
- Knowledge of international financial institutions or regulatory frameworks.
- Must be a national of an IDB member country.
- Must be a first-time participant in an IDB Group Internship Program.
- No family members currently working at the IDB or IDB Invest.
